France: The Rules of Ramadan Enforced
Hat tip Francois DeSouche
In case you were not aware, the Muslim holy month of Ramadan has concluded. In Eastern France, a 13-year-old schoolgirl of North African origin was physically attacked as she got off her school bus by 4 other Muslim students who were angry because she was “not respecting” Ramadan (presumably by munching on a snack).
The below article in Le Journal du Dimanche, which was originally cross-posted by the French blog, Francois DeSouche, is translated by Fousesquawk.

The day before Eid-al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of Ramadan, a (female) adolescent (13) was accosted by 4 minors in Achenheim (Bas-Rhin). On a bus heading to their school, she was approached by 4 other pupils of the school, reproaching her for not respecting the fast imposed by Ramadan. While getting off the bus, the victim, of North African origin, was beaten, according to our information, according to a judicial source. The adolescent was lightly injured, her face showing redness.
Complaint filed
Subsequent to the attack, the 4 minors, of Muslim faith, fled. As they are still in the process of being identified, the victim went to the police headquarters of Wolfisheim, accompanied by her father. She filed a complaint for the acts of group violence. With the matter in hand, the Gendarmerie brigade will begin an investigation.
