DO YOU TRULY KNOW YOUR ENEMY? WSHTF FROM A CATHOLIC PERSPECTIVE………

Let me preface myself with this, in case the word “Catholic” leads you to disconnect without a fair read- Blessed Bishop Fulton Sheen, a godly Catholic man who had a weekly tv program in the 60’s and 70’s, who was respected, watched and enjoyed by people of all faiths, once remarked: “There are not 100 people in the world who hate the Catholic Church, but millions who hate what they mistakenly think She is.” So- with your open mind, I proceed……
 
Time and again I see endless Youtube videos and blog articles by preppers certain that they’ve covered all their bases and are prepared to valiantly stand against- economic collapse; civil unrest; the government and it’s fema camps; socialist take-over; famine, wars, pestilence; every natural disaster known to man… on and on. They have their stock piles: their food and water storage, their ammo and weapons, their first-aid and bug-out bags with 7 different kinds of knives, their gold and silver coins. They can purify water; start fires 6 ways; have a vault of non-GMO seeds and their walkie talkies and CB’s…….Yes, they’ve thought of virtually everything to survive when SHTF. They think they know their enemy, and they’re prepared. But do they? Do you? Do you truly know just who your enemy really is, and the all out war you will soon be entrenched in? If it weren’t so deadly serious, I’d chuckle to myself when I see these commando wanna-be’s on Youtube bragging about their vast supplies and survival wits, just chomping at the bit to be in the thick of their imaginary war they envision themselves as generals over, as they stock-up also on their booze, cigarettes and condoms they think they’ll be around to make use of in the after SHTF world……….. How deadly wrong they  are–
“…there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and plagues; and there will be dreadful portents and great signs from heaven… Lk 21:11. Increasing numbers and intensity of wars is also added.
This was part of Jesus’ answer when questioned about the end of the world. Many will snidely dismiss this with- “Hey, we’ve always had earthquakes and famines and disease and war. What does that prove?” And they would be right that these things have always existed. What Jesus was indicating is that these things will begin to happen all together with greater intensity and frequency. Let’s look at some scientific data:
 
Since A.D. 1900, the growth in major earthquakes has been relentless. From 1900 to 1949 we averaged three major quakes per decade. From 1949 the increase became awesome with 9 killer quakes in the 1950′s; 13 in the 60′s; 56 in the 1970′s, and an amazing 74 major quakes in the 1980′s. In the 1990′s, over 125 major killer quakes hit in this decade (Source: U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Report, Boulder, Colorado). Our current century began “most ominously,” the scientists noted, when at least 700,000 people died in just seven deadly quakes within the first 10 years – an unprecedented decade of catastrophe, they reported. In just the last 3yrs there have been hundreds of killing earthquakes around the world. Today,Tuesday, May, 13, 2014 earthquakes of magnitude 4.5+ hit Panama, Visokoi Island, Kuril Islands, New Zealand, and an 8.1 hit Chili killing at least 5 people and launching a tsunami.  earthquakestoday.info
Famines- Yes, there have always been periods of famine. Millions of Maya people died from famine at the turn of the first millennium. 10 million Indians died in the Bengal famine of 1770. 45 million people starved to death in China during the first half of the 19th century. Tens of millions died from famine during the years preceding, during, and after World Wars 1 & 2. So, no one can deny that famines have always been around. Again, let’s keep in mind that Jesus was speaking of degrees not novelties. Let’s think of Katrina or the Philippines and keep in mind that every time a massive earthquake or hurricane or tsunami strikes, what’s the first need? Food and water. If you look at the index of famines, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_famines , you will see that quite frequently famines occurred in tandem with wars and tyrannical government take-overs, or natural disasters. The earthquake charts alone should be enough to bolster the not so unreasonable prediction that an increase in the end times of earthquakes will not only create further natural phenomenon like tsunamis, but  will also, in turn, create famines and soon to follow such conditions: disease and pestilence. To add to this equation an economic collapse, the threat of a New World Order, and a WW 3, which any rational person can see we now teeter at the brink of, would surely make Jesus absolutely right in His warnings.
 
Saint Hildegard (12th Century): ”[After the] great Comet, (Slooh.com) the great nation will be devastated by earthquakes, storms, and great waves of water, causing much want and plagues. The ocean will also flood many other countries. All sea coast cities will be fearful, and many of them will be destroyed by tidal waves, and most living creatures will be killed, and even those who escape will die from a horrible disease.
 
Maria Laach Monastery (16th Century) This prophecy was long ago recorded in a German monastery: “The twentieth century will bring death and destruction, apostasy from the Church, discord in families, cities and governments; it will be the century of three great wars with intervals of a few decades. They will become ever more devastating and bloody and will lay in ruins not only Germany, but finally all countries of East and West. After a terrible defeat of Germany will follow the next great war. There will be no bread for people anymore and no fodder for animals. Poisonous clouds, manufactured by human hands will sink down and exterminate everything. The human mind will be seized by insanity.” (If we count the century as beginning with WW1, 1914- 1918, then, we are at the dawn of WW 3, if this prophecy is fully right and not just two thirds right.) 
 
But- Jesus ends His words by saying that when you see these things coming to pass, this is only the beginning; birth pangs. In other words: these things are pains to get your attention and wake you up, so that you might be wise and prepare for not only your bodily needs, but far more importantly, your spiritual needs.
I titled this, “A Catholic Perspective on WSHTF…..” What makes it Catholic? The prophecies and predictions of centuries of Catholic Saints and approved apparitions of the Blessed Virgin, Mary. What did they tell us?
 
The Prophecy of St. Nilus, who lived around 400 AD: ”After the year 1900, toward the middle of the 20th century, the people of that time will become unrecognizable. When the time for the Advent of the Antichrist approaches, people’s minds will grow cloudy from carnal passions, and dishonor and lawlessness will grow stronger. Then the world will become unrecognizable. People’s appearances will change, and it will be impossible to distinguish men from women due to their shamelessness in dress and style of hair. These people will be cruel and will be like wild animals because of the temptations of the Antichrist. There will be no respect for parents and elders (legal euthanasia ?), love will disappear, and Christian pastors, bishops, and priests will become vain men, completely failing to distinguish the right-hand way from the left. At that time the morals and traditions of Christians and of the Church will change. People will abandon modesty, and dissipation will reign. Falsehood and greed will attain great proportions, and woe to those who pile up treasures. Lust (pornography ?), adultery (divorce & remarriage ?) homosexuality, secret deeds, (the Illuminati ?) and murder (abortion ?) will rule in society……He (Antichrist) will also give depraved wisdom to an unhappy man so that he will discover a way by which one man can carry on a conversation with another from one end of the earth to the other. At that time men will also fly through the air like birds and descend to the bottom of the sea like fish. And when they have achieved all this, these unhappy people will spend their lives in comfort without knowing, poor souls, that it is deceit of the Antichrist.
 
 
Blessed Rembordt – Eighteenth Century “God will punish the world when men have devised marvelous inventions that will lead them to forgetting God. They will have horseless carriages, and they will fly like birds.”
 
St. Senanus- Sixth Century “Falsehood will characterize that class of men who will sit in judgment to pass sentence according to law: between the father and his son, litigations will subsist. The clergy of the holy church will be addicted to pride and injustice. Women will abandon feelings of delicacy, and cohabit with men out of wedlock.
 
 
Mother Shipton-(c. 1488–1561)“When pictures look alive, with movement free, When ships like fish swim beneath the sea, When man outstripping birds can soar the sky, Then half the world deep drenched in blood shall die.”
 
 
I could go on, but this should be enough to give you a good idea that the times in which we live, for the first time in all human history, certainly fit these prophecies like gloves. So- again, I began this with asking, “Do you know who your real enemy is?” I write this to tell you, that it doesn’t matter one iota how prepared you are materially, if you aren’t spiritually prepared, YOU WILL DIE!!! Your bullets cannot stop the forces behind the deluge of chaos and destruction that is coming. The only thing that will ensure your safe passage through to the next world beyond is a pure and upright heart before God. All others will die. All that is not truly and wholly of God will be purged from this earth.
 
THIS is what shtf is all about- the great chastisement for all the evils which abound in the world. And think not that because you say, “Lord, Lord” you are safe, and evil cannot touch you, because judgment is coming upon the Church FIRST. Why? Because those who call themselves Christians failed to stand against evil. They grew lukewarm and indifferent. 2 out of every 3 women who has an abortion identifies herself as a Christian. Most married Christians contracept which quite often kills fertilized conceptions which God says He knows and loves. They divorce and remarry as often as the ungodly even though Jesus clearly stated that to do so was to be guilty of adultery. They stopped keeping the Sabboth holy and started shopping and gaming instead. They stopped going to the Lord, and went to psychics and mediums for insight. They built false gods to worship before instead of altars: TV’s, computers, casinos, ball games. They grew gluttonous and greedy, seeking riches instead of heaven. They forgot their first Love, and while they played and slept, evil crept in and took over.
 
St. Antony the Abbot – Fourth Century “Men will surrender to the spirit of the age…When the Church and the world are one, then those days are at hand.”  (As a Catholic it urks my gall majorly to watch ungodly, worldly people like Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and Kathleen Sebelius claim to be Catholic Christians while foisting such evils upon us as Obamacare and the HHS Mandate.)
 
Because even the people of God bear guilt, we are called to not only be fervently praying for souls, but to be fasting and offering sacrifices for the sins of the world, not resting contently on our moral laurels.
 
Now I realize that many of you Protestants are expecting to get raptured out of here any day now, but St. Peter tells us in his epistle that “As in the days of Noah, so shall be those days….” In the days of Noah, it was the ungodly who were taken off the earth and the good who were left behind. Those who are left will then rise into the air to escort their coming King and His New Jerusalem (Rev. 21) to earth, just as the people went out of the city to triumphantly escort their King, riding on an ass, into the old Jerusalem.
 
 
In Mt. 13 when Jesus tells the parable of the enemy coming in the night to sow weeds in the field of wheat, what does He tell the servant about pulling out those weeds? He tells him to wait lest uprooting them he might also uproot the wheat before the plants can mature. Jesus says that when it is harvest time, which He says represents the end of the world, He will send His angels out to FIRST gather up all the weeds out of the field, which He says represents the world, and cast them into the fire, and THEN, He will gather His wheat. So shall it be: THIS is what you are preparing for. THIS is what is coming upon the earth- the great uprooting of all that do not belong to Christ. The means He will use to bring these things about are earthly- wars, famines, pestilence, natural disasters, economic collapse…. And according the Word and the Saints, every demon of hell will be loosed upon earth for one last great spiritual battle.
 
 
In the beginning I asked if you truly knew who your enemy was. Do you know that this is not a battle of the flesh we are approaching? Do you know the enemy you face is ultimately spiritual? The war being waged is a war for eternal souls. And according to the bible, many are called, but FEW are chosen; FEW are saved. How fervently do you beg God in prayer to make sure you know and are doing all you need to to be one of the FEW??? Or are you one of those counting solely on your skills, stockpile, and bullets?
 
 
One last point I’d like to make concerning why I feel certain we are in the end times according to Catholic prophecy.  Bl. Bishop Fulton Sheen, whom I referenced at the beginning of this, believed we were in the end times, (as did St. Padre Pio who died in 1968) Bsp.Sheen prophesied that in the end times there would develop two Churches calling themselves Catholic. One would be the True Church of Christ, faithful to tradition. The other would be a false Catholic Church. It would appear somewhat to be Catholic, but it would be ecumenical and global, a loose welcoming and unity of many denominations, and full of novel ideas and ways, rejecting of sound tradition. This is exactly what is developing in the modern church over the last 50 years.

Bl. Anne Catherine Emerich who lived in the 1800’s, had visions of the same two churches calling themselves Catholic, one True and Traditional- the other false because it would succumb to novel ideas and heretical teachings. It would be worldly. She also saw two popes. For the first time in Catholic history, we have a division between the Novus Ordo and Traditional Catholics. We also have two popes: Benedict and Francis. Pope Benedict did not revert to his name and position as a cardinal. He retains his Papal name as well as the coat of arms with the keys of Peter.
 
 
Blessed Mary appeared at Quito, Equador in the 1600’s, LaSalette, France in the 1800’s, Fatima, Portugal in 1917, and Akita, Japan in 1973. Her message in all cases was a warning of great evils overtaking the world and massive apostasy coming in the Church, a great falling away from True Catholicism by the laity, a great failure on the part of the clergy and Magisterium to uphold tradition, and the great chastisements coming because of it. She also earnestly beseeched the faithful to pray, fast, and sacrifice for the world. Every word our Lady spoke has or is coming to pass. I don’t have space to go into these appearances in depth, but anyone interested can easily search them out online.Marie Julie Jahenny is another deeply holy woman who also had visions of all these things coming to pass.
 
 
All things taken together, there’s little doubt that we are now facing the beginnings of the end, and if your heart is not aligned with the winning side, no amount of material preparations will see you through. I’ve not even touched on the 3 Days of Darkness and all that the Saints have exhorted we need to survive them. Look it up—
 
 
I’m not about preaching anything to anyone. Even God allows you the free will to seek and believe Him or to trust in your own wisdom and see where that ultimately gets you. I just put out there a taste of what the Bible and Catholic Saints have said for centuries. Pick it up and search it out for yourself, or delete it and go buy more bullets……..       he “end of the world” is NOT imminent, but the present age is drawing to a close. After a brief period of intense lightning storms, during which Antichrist will be destroyed, a very lengthy “holy age” will commence.

      The notion of a more or less prolonged period of international peace and sanctity preceding the Second Advent of Christ is the official teaching of the Catholic Church. Plus it is strongly supported by Biblical and Marian prophecies.
